SUMMARY:The Cliosophic Society Presents: Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute Ilya Shapiro
DESCRIPTION:Free & Open to the Public \nThe American Whig–Cliosophic Society presents Ilya Shapiro\, Senior Fellow and Director of Constitutional Studies at the Manhattan Institute\, for a moderated Q&A on free speech on college campuses. A prominent constitutional scholar\, Shapiro has filed hundreds of Supreme Court briefs\, testified before Congress\, and written extensively on the First Amendment\, the Supreme Court\, and legal education. He is the author of Lawless: The Miseducation of America’s Elites and Supreme Disorder\, and has previously held leadership roles at the Cato Institute and Georgetown Law’s Center for the Constitution. \nThe conversation will explore the legal foundations and cultural debates surrounding free expression in higher education\, including academic freedom\, viewpoint diversity\, and the challenges facing open discourse on campus today. The event will include a moderated discussion followed by an opportunity for audience questions.
